Prestatyn Town FC is delighted to announce that internationally-capped teenage defender Dan Roberts has extended his contract at Bastion Gardens until the end of the 2019/20 season.
The 18-year-old has grown immeasurably at the heart of our defence this season, and displays a real passion for the badge in his performances. Manager Neil Gibson had a lot of praise for one of his star center backs, saying: “I’m extremely pleased that Dan had decided to extend his stay at Prestatyn for at least another season. From the moment I came back I’ve been impressed with him, and I’ve really enjoyed working him and watch his progression over the season.
“The maturity of his performances sometimes make it easy to forget that he’s still only 18, but I’m very much looking forward to continue working with Dan to help him fulfil his massive potential. I’m confident that if Dan continues with his willingness to learn and take on information, and trains as hard as he has this season - he will become a Welsh Premier League player in the not-too-distant future (hopefully with Prestatyn Town).”
Elated with the extension, Roberts said: “It’s a pleasure to have re-signed with Town. I’ve been made to feel welcome from the moment I signed first time around, and at my age - that means a lot.
“The family atmosphere that surrounds the club is amazing. I’m really proud to sign for the forthcoming season working alongside Gibbo, and gaining every bit of experience possible from the likes of Dave Hayes - because that’s an opportunity that doesn’t come around often. I’m excited to continue working hard and hopefully continue to improve.”
